About Me

I’ve done it all. Produce. Direct. Shoot. Edit. I even did the weather forecast on Fridays for the campus TV broadcast my senior year at Illinois State. You can find my resume below, but I’ll also share my top 5 moments working in TV and video production.

5. Traveling to the University of Missouri with ISU’s football team. I was chronicling the season from the sidelines and it was amazing to be shooting on the field in front of nearly 60,000 people.

4. Covering the 2008 gubernatorial debate between Judy Baar-Topinka and Rod Blagojevich. Little did I know that a massive firestorm would ensue just a few years later.

3. Producing, shooting, and editing 20+ webisodes of Big Hurt TV with Frank Thomas. To go from watching Frank hit bombs at what was then “New Comiskey” to working side-by-side with him is still hard to comprehend sometimes.

2. Editing White Sox Pre/Postgame Live the day Mark Buehrle threw his perfect game. It started out like any other day but in just a few short hours, it had become one of the most historic days in baseball history.

1. Shooting from a double decker in the Stanley Cup parade. Over 2,000,000 people can say they saw the parade, but only a small handful can say they were in it.

So. Many. People.

One more neat story…I was shooting at the 2011 Comcast SportsNet Sports Awards, the network’s annual fundraiser for the March of Dimes. White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen was in attendance to receive this year’s lifetime achievement award. While shooting an interview with him before the ceremony, I noticed Ozzie Guillen Jr. snap a photo in the background. The next day, Ozzie Jr. tweeted out a link to photos of the event on OzzieGuillen.com. I figured I’d take a peek around and sure enough there I was. The picture on the top is a screen grab from the video I shot. The bottom is Ozzie Jr.’s photo.
